Calling all Weirdos! The latest Ravendesk Games creation is Kickstarting now. The Official Weird Tales Tabletop RPG!

You know how much we love Weird Tales already--  in Herald: Lovecraft & Tesla, we have central player characters like HPL, Robert E. Howard, even a young Ray Bradbury. Sonia Greene was also a big Weird Fiction publisher/writer, those of you with the game corebook know how powerful she and all those wonderful writers are in-game!

One magazine that connected them all... Weird Tales.

Hope to see some of you over in Pandemonium, we think you're going to like it there. Weirdo...

Calling all Los Angeles area GMs!

Ravendesk Games is going to be running a booth at Orccon in Los Angeles February 16-19! We will be showing and selling Herald and our other products (Vurt!), as well as running a demo table and tabletop events. If you live in the Los Angeles area, or if you plan on visiting to attend the convention, we would be delighted to see you!

If you are a GM who would like to run few sessions of Herald: Lovecraft & Tesla, we would be happy to pay for your pass to the convention. Furthermore, we'll make sure you take home a copy of each book we've got for sale! Our goal is to get Herald in front of as many gamers as possible and running game tables is the best way to rope people in and build buzz in the community. The more tables we can run, the better!

If I've piqued your interest, send me an email at [email protected] and let's discuss the specifics!

In other news, we're working on the next thing for Herald and I'm really excited to clue you all in on the project. But that's all for now!

Roll on, friends!

Update 11/27
over 6 years ago – Mon, Nov 27, 2017 at 11:06:03 PM

Hello again Herald Backers,

Last Monday I announced our intention to start shipping the Herald books over this past week. Foolishly, I neglected to account for PAX Unplugged, which our distributor was attending for most of this past week, and also the Thanksgiving holiday which stalled all business for a couple days. As a result (kazoo sound), I'm re-announcing our intention to ship this coming week!

I apologize for this delay, and I assure you we're going to get these rewards out just as soon as we can. You've waited patiently since the kickstarter funded and we're looking at a matter of days here, not weeks, until we can get this thing wrapped up.

In other news, we've been working on a new adventure for Herald: Lovecraft & Tesla, which we hope will be the first of many standalone modules for the game. It's called "The Mythos Resistance Junior" and we've been having a blast testing it. We're working up some new artwork which we'll show off, along with some more details, in a future update.

I will post updated shipping information as I receive it. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I would be delighted to communicate with you directly.

Thanks you for your understanding!

Update 11/21

Herald Rewards to begin shipping this week!

Hello again, Herald backers,

We are very pleased to announce that we plan to start shipping Herald: Lovecraft and Tesla this week! The proofs of the battle maps look great and we're going to start the initial shipments as that delivery speeds toward the warehouse!

Those of you who purchased the hardcover upgrade or who have a hardcover in your reward tier should have received an email regarding the status of the hardcover printing. To reiterate, they've been delayed, but we're going to proceed with the bulk of deliveries and send those out as soon as the printing is finished. If you would prefer to receive a softcover edition, we will refund the cost of the hardcover upgrade and send your rewards with the rest. Send me an email at [email protected] if you are interested in this option. Again, I apologize for the delay on that reward; a printing error or layout issue is to blame and we're working on it as fast as we can!

As your rewards arrive, we would love it if your would share the fact on social media, along with your thoughts. Being such a small company, we could really use your help spreading the word about the game!

Standby for further fulfillment updates!

Weekly Update 11/13
over 6 years ago – Mon, Nov 13, 2017 at 10:57:39 PM

Hello again, Herald backers!

Just a quick word to keep you all up-to-date on our progress with getting the game ready for shipment. In our last update I mentioned that we were working on getting the battle maps and the hardcover editions printed and shipped to the warehouse. Well we've had a couple of issues that we've been grappling with which have slowed the process down a bit. Because we are only printing battle maps for backers, rather than an extra run for the public release, we've had difficulty finding a printer that is willing to do a short run of maps and not charge very high prices. Typically, when producing maps for an RPG, a large number would be purchased from a company overseas making the cost tolerable. The problem with that is that we would be looking at up to six months turnaround, which obviously isn't something we're willing to do.

However, we've gotten a quote that we can live with, and the maps are in the process of being produced. We will start shipping backer rewards as soon as we get them to the warehouse. Barring any complication with the order, we should be able to start the first batch of shipments later this week! If we do, I'll post an update letting you all know that the shipments have started.

You have all been very patient and understanding and we are tremendously appreciative of that fact. Though we're not ready let any cats out of any figurative bags just yet, I can say that we've already started working on what's next for Herald the RPG!

Hold fast! More news to come!
